Hi, I am 45 and have all the time 2 exam to the end. I think, maybe I am “to old” to pass the exams?
Congratulations for your success and optimism.

At seconds past midnight I received my exam results. I decided to concentrate on Advanced Financial Management as I felt this to be such a big subject. I got 35% for this exam. However, ironically, the exam I considered postponing until December and only “crammed” for after sitting AFM (a day and a half later) – Advanced Performance Management, was a bolt out of the blue, 58% – pretty respectable pass.

I have no problem with having to do a resit in December. This will be my last exam – the light at the end of the tunnel. I am extremely please with my 35% as I knew this was a huge challenge for me – I sat Financial Management 3 times whilst moving home and going through a divorce and got 38%, 41% and 67% respectively. I have a wonderful supportive boyfriend and he backs me all the way, so am hoping to be successful in December. If the results are out on 8th Feb next year then it will be 2 days before my 50th birthday – the target I set myself a few years ago (I started studying at 44), do-able if I concentrate on writing up and getting my practicals signed off.

I am so happy about my exam results as I know I did my best. I have a good grounding with the technical stuff in this exam – just have to master the analysis which is what sets us apart as ACCA students and lets us help mould the real world.

I congratulate all who passed and have completed – a long rewarding journey, now the world is your oyster with a qualification worth owning.

I congratulate all who entered but haven’t completed as well, for those who passed – on to the next subject, for those who didn’t get enough marks – you know you can do it, look how far you have come already, and good luck for future sittings.

I was too ambitious and took 3 P papers in June 2013 sitting. I studied P1 myself and attended classes for P4 and P7 both one month late in enrollment. Passed P1 and failed P7 and P4. My P7 score is 47 and P4 score is 23. I realized that for P4 the class I attended did not drill us enough on concepts. Given a scenarios different from the revision kit or past exams most of us do not know how to find the missing variables to work out the answers. This is the first time I took P4 and P7. I want to resit the papers this Dec 2013 please advise what I must do to pass. Can I just use Open Tuition notes to do my revision? Will there be people to help me if I have questions? Are there students I can communicate with? I live in Singapore and have never use online study method. Appreciate your help 😉

I also sat 3 papers June 2013 which was P1 (54%), P4 (56%) and P5 (54%)…..they were all my first attempts. I also studied P1 on my own and attended classes for the others. My P4 class i also felt didn’t cover enough concepts nor did we do sufficient past papers, so 2mths before the exam i studied P4 on my own using LSBf lecture, opentuition and i also read the Emille Wolf Publishing text. I did several past papers and mock exams. I listened to lectures on my way to work and whilst i exercised. I do believe you can also complete ur final papers come December as there are sufficient online resources to assist as well as Open tuition forums. All the best to you!!!

Hi Susan, Do not be discouraged. keep at it and you will succeed. all I can say is do not give up as you will regret it for the rest of your life. just one more paper for you. you can do it. most of us have been there feeling low but believing in ourselves and we eventually got through.

Best of luck in December 2013

First time failing at 46% and it really hurts feel the exam was doable but too many foolish answers and mistakes. I’m thinking about doing P7 in December instead.

To anybody resitting p4….Please don’t be disheartened as this was my 2nd attempt and I know how it feels. ..just try to figure out your mistakes and short comings in june sitting and work on them. ….another obvious advice is just to practice as much as possible because the forex question was very similar to at least two past papers..

I attempted 4 Ppapers last time, P2 to P5, and I gave up P5 in the end. It’s so lame of me! I got 51% for P2, 52% for P3 and 66% for P4! Can’t believe it that I passed P2 and P3, and got such low mark at P4!
