I’ve just received a notification from OBU. It states that due to technical issues they faced during last submission results for P37 will be releassed on May 17 (anticipated). Has anyone else received similar email?

Yes this email was sent to all students who submitted in Period 37 (and we predicted that the results would be delayed on one of our other threads based on very reliable information received a few hours earlier).
Unfortunately the knock-on effect will impact on those P37 students who expected to attend the UK graduation ceremony in June 2019. It is highly unlikely that there will be time to include these students in the June graduation arrangements. We are waiting to hear whether, as OBU sometimes holds some graduations in early September if they will be doing so this year. If so, then this is the most likely time that the ceremony for the BSc Applied Accounting will take place.
At this stage we do not know if any overseas graduations will be affected but as they normally are either in Autumn or Spring depending on the actual country these may not be impacted.
March 15, 2019 at 10:45 am #509393One of the consequences of the delayed results could be a situation where a student submitting in P37 who had one last submission opportunity available to them I.e. Period 38 will now find out that they have failed unfortunately and ‘the P38 boat sailed before they even knew they were supposed to have had a ticket and get on board!’ so to speak.
Although this should only apply to a small number of students I would hope that OBU will be taking this into account as many students were probably assuming that with the results expected on 20 March if they failed they would have had sufficient time to have remedied the deficiencies and been able to resubmi in P38.
In fact although I do not want to preempt, I did receive a notification as a mentor that Period 38 submissions will also be via email, which as a former marker I expect means that the semi-automatic marking process will again not be available with the probable consequences that P38 results will be slightly delayed.
My deep concern is that someone could have set out to do their RAP for P37 (Nov 2018) expecting to have say 3 possible attempts before their time limit expired in November 2019. They would have assumed that if the failed they would know by 20 March and have about 7weeks to turn it around to resubmit in P38 and even if the P38 attempt failed as they would have expected to know by 19/20 Sep with another 7 weeks to prepare their final attempt for P39. Consequently now it looks as though their second resubmission will have to be in P39 and that ostensibly they would be deprived of a third attempt (unless the rules are specifically adjusted to take the logistics of such situations into consideration….)
