    Hi,

Is there anyone who can guide me on this?

I have passed F1-F9 and P1 by self-study (OT notes/lectures, BPP books), I spend 1-2 hours per exam when I am working (5 days) and more when I am off work.
I even managed to secure a national/global position in F4 by the above method. I am currently working in a relevant role and want to know if the above method is ok for P3 exam. All my senior colleagues don’t believe that it is a good approach as they attended college for this. The story was the same with the previous exams as everyone kept telling me that after F3 it is not good to go without college. My employer will refund my tuition but I feel more comfortable studying the way I normally do i.e. without college.

So can you please let me know if P3 can be passed without attending college?

    Thanks in advance.

I haven’t done P3 yet but people tell me it’s a paper you can do through self study. P3 is more of theory,i think with your kind of approach you can study on your own and pass it. Those are my thoughts. All the best.

I have passed f1-p3 on self- study basis. Don’t really understand where is the problem. I was studying in similar way as you – about 2 hrs in workdays and more in weekends. I usually try to have a month before the exam for revision – doing all past papers, exam kit questions etc. As many as possible.

Hi, I have done self study up to p3 and planning on doing the same for the rest of my exams, as colleage is to expensive, why not look at doing one of the online revision courses on offer, that way you get to continue using your own way but can use the revision and mock exam to help with the last minute tips?
Let us know what you decide?

I too have done all of the papers without lectures and P3 is definitely do-able without lectures 😉 you have to read and understand the models but other than that it’s a lot of reasoning and common sense I feel. I too am sitting for P3 this session and I’m finding it easier than most subjects to self-study.

I have been attending lectures for Acca course but I hope to receive advice on how I can rely more on my own to study and prepare for exam. Although I work v hard but I find my studying method not effective and my memory is not fantastic.
Any advice from those who have passed P3 and P1?

    Thank you

I have also managed first time passes in F1 to P1 through self study and plan to continue to do so for the remainder of the exams. As the saying goes……if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
