When looking at the financial performance of steeltown information technology, would it be fair to say that it is a value trap business in Ashridge portfolio terms, as steeltown IT (the subsidiary) needs help but the holding company (EA group) is unable to offer the help that is needed due to steeltown being a diversified company within the group portfolio

That would be a fine point to make. EA simply knows nothing about this type of business and is being a bit arrogant to think that it might be able to help.
