We are all blaming ourselves for poor time management. The requirements were just too much considering the reading, planning, calculation and writing. I am doubtful whether its knowledge and application testing or just business for ACCA. I am already considering moving to academic qualifications…

Really wondered! Why most of the candidates found it time preasured, Q-1 last part was a bit confusing, but time wasn’t the issue…

The paper was fair. but too time pressure, part b of question one was one of the main issue.
    i attempted question 3 and 4.
question 4 was straight forward for me, 3 was a bit challenging i use mendelow for the last part of the question hope it was relevant.
    i just hope for 50…u

I took one look at the giant scenario and thought I’m not spending my entire reading time reading that.

I spent my reading time skin reading the option questions and decided on 2 and 3, worked out the minutes per each part question and then did all the calculations in full on my question paper for q2. Then started planning the wordy bit. As soon as I could write I copied my number answer over and then wrote my word plan out for q2. Then did q3 to time. This meant I was ahead when I hit q1.

I then read the question and then my first read of the scenario write if it was political economical etc alongside the relevant bit. Was massively ahead going into the stupid decision tree rubbish (attempted it 4 times and know all were wrong) but at least it meant I had spent plenty of time on everything else.

Now just hoping I did enough to pass!

BTW guys, ACCA has sent an email with a survey regarding the exam. Please let them know the issue of time and the difficulty in finishing the exam. (they have asked in detail regarding this)

I also found section b of question 1 a little hard for 20 marks, time constraint although I did manage to finish it, but not enough time to digest all the info given and I think the style of the questions this time was a little out of line whereby you had to guess the answers. More reading time would be appreciated.

Not enough time, in 15 min I did not even managed to read the whole first question 🙁 There is no time to think-you need to read it and reply straightaway – it’s how I felt

exactly. Reading taking so much time. Planning and structuring takes time too…and writing too! If it was rote learning and writing then theres no need for such planning but this is P3 !! we do need some time to think and write accordng to the scenario. Guess the examiner ws trying to fail many.

I think d paper was not well balanced and from all indications we’re gradually moving back to F5 and I don’t think dat’s good enough, we had so much to read dat it’s not really practicable to concentrate on every part and now we’re gradually deviating from what P3 used to be!

I am not certain why that last part really appeared in Question 1. It just shows
again how determined ACCA is to fail students. It is sad to see. The paper was
confusing. So much to do and write on this paper. What does the examiner really
expect of us? It was terrible.

I am sad this is my 4th attempt. Still hope I will pass it although the last part of
question 1 really threw me off.

    accahere is sad.

It was inevitable for people to fail this sitting.

More people fail = more re-sits for the new September sitting = more money!

I lost much time struggling with section b that affected the rest of the exam. It appears that the style of the exam is somewhat changing little by little, and the skew towards the fine-tunings of the syllabus appear to be on the increase.
