Hi Sir,
What is the difference between the UK and INT variant on the P2 paper. I am a UK based student working in a UK accountancy practice. (I have no intention to ever work outside of the UK).
I have just entered for my exams and paid for the UK variant but after doing some research I red some comments which said that the UK variant is the same as the INT variant but with further areas of the syllabus added?
Do I have to complete the UK variant paper to practice as an accountant in the UK. If not, then is it more advisable to do the INT variant as it is more briefed down and therefore easier to pass?
Thanks for your time
I think you’ll find that there’s not a lot of difference between the two variants and that difference is gradually being eliminated with each convergence meeting.
However, I understand that the rules as they stand at the moment will require you to have passed the UK variant if it is your intention to practice as an auditor / accountant in the UK after qualifying.
This will undoubtedly change in time but, the question is, when?
