Hi, I am registered for the P2 UK paper Sep17 exam and currently usuing the lectures provided by opentuion which are P2 INT. How will this affect my passing chances, I tried to get some answers from ACCA directly, but they suggested that I should either change the provider or decide if I can manage to pass by studying the P2 INT.

Please help me? I have covered half of the lectured on P2 INT, I wouldnt want to change the provider. Should I change my exam to INT paper?

    Hi,
How did you do in your P2 UK version exam last September?
I have accidentally booked the UK version by mistake and am now panicking as I don’t have much knowledge of the UK GAAPs at all. I also previouly took F7 Int.

In your opinion, is the UK version more demanding?
I would appreciate any advice ref the P2UK version. Everyone seems to be taking the International version…..
    Thank you

Thank you for responding to me Viktoriya. I will have a go since it’s too late for me to change to the Int.
Good luck with your coming exam too.

    Hello,

I heard that if we want to be able to practice in the UK, we must compulsorily sit and pass P2 and P7 UK variants. Is that correct?

Hahaha had a major panic over this this morning when I realised there were two difference variations (INT and UK) and the lectures were on INT and I without knowing had chosen to do UK.

From research and doing past papers it seems as though usually there’s around 10-20 marks on the difference between them and those marks will usually either all be in Q2 or Q3 or mostly Q2 or Q3 with a small 6-8 marker in Q1 on it. So they can be skipable.

My plan is to avoid those questions if I can but here’s a nice little article from ACCA on the main differences and having looked at the past exam answers they do seem to match up fairly nicely: https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/pdf/sa_aug11_p2uk.pdf

If I fail the December sitting though I will sit the INT version in March.

    Hi ddmoo,

Glad to see I’m not the only one who had booked the wrong variant. I did panic for a short while as I’m already trying to master this beast P2 in 4 weeks, I really do not have time to read anything extra. However, have heard that the extra syllabus only takes a few hours to read, hence I am not panicking any more. It will be useful to know about FRS102 and 105 for work anyway….

Like you, I will book the Int variant in March 2018. Having just watched the Opentuition lectures on Hedging I don’t think I will have any chance of getting 50%, especially after taking 3 hours to do question 1 on a past paper. I guess this paper is very technical hence no chance of winging it like P1 or P3…

Good luck with your Dec exam. I will turn up and treat it like a mock exam.
