Hi, I failed my P2 in June and am now thinking whether to sit P2 and P3 in Sep, or should I do just P3 and do P2 in Dec.
Right now I have 4 days a week free for revision. Is it wise to sit both exams in Sep? I am going over past exam q in revision kits.
August 4, 2015 at 1:33 pm #265438I am thinking of sitting P2 and P3 this December and I am working Monday to Friday. I only have weekends to study. P2 involves a lot of calculations and P3 is theoretical so I believe it should be a good balance.
My only problem is that I am studying at home and the country I live in doesnt have classes.
Best of luckAugust 4, 2015 at 2:36 pm #265453@Sam you didn’t specify if P3 is a new subject to you or it is also a resit.
If P3 is a new subject I would definitely focus only on P2 in September. Right after P2 exam start studying P3 for December session.
By the time you receive P2 results you will be able to cover most of syllabus of P3.
If P3 is also a resit as P2 I would go for both in September since you have full time available for study.
@Leonarda
I have to disagree. P2 has very little calculations – around 65 marks are for application of IAS/IFRS.P3 you could call a theoretical material but the exam is very very practical – lot of application and common sense is required. For P3 I would highly advise to read recent articles – one of them is coming up for sure for many marks. (Same as for P2)
August 4, 2015 at 4:49 pm #265489I’ve been studying since beginning of June and gone through all Open tuition lectures. And am now going over notes and past exam q. I feel more comfortable with the theory and application in P3. I want to do both but I’m worried I wont have time to balance between the two before Sep. If I had to pick then I’d say I’ve a better chance of passing P3.
Though ideally I want to do P3 and have a shot at P2.
