Hi want to know is it possible to prepare for p2 without taking classes and only doing open tuition notes and Bpp revision kit.I will start study now could you please suggest anything. Classes are very expensive so cannot afford.please help n guide how to start. Many thanks.
September 6, 2013 at 4:32 pm #139983Yes it is possible and open tuition video lectures are quite useful.
Work hard on group accounts, consolidations and cashflows. question practice is the key here.
Be prepared to discuss your figures and make justified recommendations or comments.
You don’t need to memorise all of the IFRSs but learn the key ones or at least the principals behind them.September 6, 2013 at 4:54 pm #139984Make sure you do all the revision kit and more if possible.
September 6, 2013 at 7:24 pm #140002Bear in mind that only about 35% of the P2 exam is numbers. The remaining 65% looks at IFRS, current issues, ethics and corporate governance (yes, straight from P1!)
September 16, 2013 at 4:09 pm #140584I have skipped P1 as just finished F7 & F9 and thought that P2 followed these papers, should I have done P1 first?
September 16, 2013 at 7:00 pm #140594yes or do them together.
the acca papers feeds in to the next, that’s why one paper is first before another.
if you check the other comments, Mike has indicated that 15% of p2 exam is directly from P1, usually question 2 on ethics.
P1 content also reappears in all the P papers so that’s why it is P1 not 3 or 2.
i think it is best to do it first. my opinion but you are the one doing the exam so it’s your choiceSeptember 16, 2013 at 7:43 pm #140601Personally, I would always suggest that P1 should be done before (or at least at the same sitting as) P1
September 17, 2013 at 1:11 pm #140650I would like to know when the lecture financial instrument will be posted?
