There is not any best combo…..it depends on your ability, nothing is impossible.

Mor112, I imagine a mix of ‘wordy’ and ‘numbers’ may give you that variety that is the spice of life.

Having said that, P2 is hardly what I would call a ‘numbers’ paper. There’s only normally 35 marks of consolidation and then a lot of chat. Admittedly, the chat questions 2 and 3 in P2 frequently require a student to identify appropriate accounting treatment, but we’re a long way past the basic double entries of F3!

i choose my paper according to the dates set by acca. If u choose p2 and p1, they are on 2 consecutive days while if u take p3 and p1 you will get a one day break between the two papers which is somehow important in my opinion. Also p2 is quite tough as compared to p3 and if u didnt perform well in the p2 exam, this may affect you psychologically for p1 which will be on the following day lol.

In June 2013, I sat P1 & P2. I passed P2 but failed P1 (44%) – We moved house in June 2013, plus my daughter was born, plus I had exams all in the space of 3 weeks – so I just put it down to stress!
Then in Dec 2013, I sat P1 again, and took P3. I passed both exams!

Personally – I liked the combination of P1 & P2 becasue it made study less boring – at least on the P2 revision you got to do “number crunching”, whereas the P1 & P3 studying was all reading.

Incidentally, I passed P3 with nothing but Opentuition notes and past papers – the first time I have done that with ACCA exams!

Good luck everyone & thanks opentuition.
