Hi,
Anyone know how are the steps to be write when applied to the case?
Thank You.
December 4, 2014 at 10:19 am #217236Hi
I’m not totally sure how to answer this!
The way in which a question is answered is heavily dependent upon the verb used in the question requirement
I read your post before I went to make myself a coffee and was thinking about it during coffee-making time. To generalise the way to approach a P1 question, it seems to me that we can loosely apply the mnemonic Airdrie – the mnemonic for steps taken by internal auditors to implement controls and steps taken by risk managers in their efforts to manage risk.
In the mnemonic, the first two letters need to be reversed – but when we do that we lose the name of a (non-) famous Scottish football team
So, here we go with the first two letters reversed:
Identify – the requirements of the question and issues within the question text
Analyse – if applicable, analyse those issues that may be pigeon-holed into separate categories
Report – not really applicable unless, of course, you are asked to write a report!
Design – ways in which the identified issues can be addressed in an effort to strengthen the system, minimise risk, address existing identified problems …. whatever the question has asked you for
Recommend – again, not really applicable in many cases
Implement – unless the question asks you to go beyond designing / recommending, then implementation, and the next one
Evaluate – will hardly be relevant
Now I’m not sure that this is what your post was asking so, if it isn’t, then apologies
Otherwise, I hope that it has helped and at least now you know that Scotland has more than two football teams!
