i have just joined open tuition.

i am really scared on doing self study and what some advice on how hard the topic is and what type of revision style i should be doing (2 times a week?)
also how i should approach the topic.what does the examiner compulsory to know.
i have ordered the study text along with the revision kit from BBP.
i look forward to hearing from your responses.
Manny thanks in advance.October 27, 2012 at 9:30 am #104895am doing self study too ,it has not been easy.can someone help with better tips to do more in little time for the exams?
October 27, 2012 at 10:22 am #104896Hi, i am also self-studying. I passed P2 in June through self-study.
I usually watch the Opentuition lectures then read the relevant chapter in the study text and finally practice some questions from revision kit
When it’s closer to the exam, i will avoid reading the study text and just attempt as many past questions as i can. As i feel this paper is more about application, rather than theoretical knowledge fro textbook.
This is the way i’m doing it, you just have to be committed to it. I have no advice based on how many hrs you should revise per week as that should be determined yourself.
Also don’t forget to read the technical articles as they are quite relevant and helpful.

How do you check the answer om questions you have attempt?
November 6, 2012 at 5:22 pm #104898Hi vickytpc
I attempt the question myself or do a question plan. I then read the answers in my BPP revision kit. It is really good as they give you tips as well on how you should have answered and highlight keywords.
I feel if you are self-studying, it is important to have the right kit and not be too stingy trying to save money on them. - AuthorPosts
