THE INTERNAL CONTROL QUESTION…HOW INTERNAL CONTROLS GUARANTEE QUALITY FINANCIAL REPORTIN.

THE QUESTION I THINK WAS LOOKING AT CHARECTERISTICS OF INTERNAL CONTROL THAT MAKES ACCURATE DATA RECORDING AND RELIABLE.

    THESE INCLUDE, RELIABILITY,, ACCURACY, TIMELINESS,

Wouldn’t you neewd to be more specific than that. Ie how does internal control help specifically, not the characteristics of sound internal control.

    Very vague question I thought.

Yes, there would have been a problem if you HAD written down your name. Unless the rules have changed, your name should appear NOWHERE in your answer booklet. It may be that the rules, in fact, have changed ….. but I doubt it very much. Even to the extent of signing a report or memo, your name should not appear (it shouldn’t appear anyway as a signature to a report or memo – they should not be signed, despite what BPP and Kaplan inconsistently print!

Nowadays we write our name on the front cover of the answer booklet, but there is a disclaimer that the name will not be presented to the marker.

On a seperate note, I knew the answers of the questions but was not able to provide a definition to consequentional and deleontical risk, but in my analysis i wrote of such factors, i just did not know what they meant at that time. Will i be able to getsome marks for correct analysis without a proper defintion for the terms requested?

    Thx

HI It was my first attempt and having a good time management practice had help me to finish my paper just on time. In overall the paper was fair if you have gone through the entire syllabus and the open tuition notes and lectures. thanks a million to my lecturer as well as the open tuition lectures and notes.

Paper was well balanced, found enough to talk about in Q1, Q2 and Q4.

The press release I wrote very much like any press releases I have heard, trying to be very persuasive and apologetic…was this how others approached it?

arguing against the bribe from a consequentialist approach I discussed the fact the company had to almost live with being unethical, and the potential of external parties finding out. I also got Kant in there somewhere, who says it is unethical when our duties are identified and then not fulfilled. A company’s duty does not included accepting bribes in the first place, so I said it is therefore unethical or something like that.

Hopefully a pass, they didn’t ask me anything I didn’t understand put it that way. 🙂

    Best of luck to all!!

    Hi everyone,

The solution has been available on the ACCA website for the past week or so.

    Thanks.
