Hello,
I have the study text book and exam kit for P1 dated till June 2014. I was wondering if I can use at least the study text book for Dec 2014. I know that there will be some changes in the syllabus but I do not know which. Thank you in advance for your replies.

As for study material, I imagine that June 2014 edition should be substantially acceptable

Thanks for the reply, I am looking to start studying before the release of the new material since I am planning to take F4 and P1 (both theoretical) for Dec 2014.on the link below there are all the changes for all modules.

can’t say that I was able to figure out what “not to study till the new release”.Nevertheless I will start with the material I got (KAPLAN June 2014) and hope that the changes are not significant.
July 28, 2014 at 3:22 pm #179844Paper P1, Governance, Risk and Ethics
Table 7 shows the main changes to the Paper P1 syllabus. The main significant changes are the introduction of a new section on public sector governance in Section A and some new outcomes on Integrated Reporting in Section E. Key changes relate to addition of public sector governance and to the addition of integrated reporting in the syllabus. The detailed changes are shown in Table 10 below:
July 28, 2014 at 8:16 pm #179873I still believe that June 2014 material will be substantially what you require. Watch accountancy posts and student accountant articles for matters concerning changes in governance and integrated reporting (one of my early tips for a question in December 2014)
August 13, 2014 at 3:53 pm #189912Is it ok to use the P1 text for up to June 2014 exams and just past papers not a revision kit?
August 13, 2014 at 6:23 pm #189940The text should be substantially ok – it won’t have the integrated reporting bits in there nor the public sector governance. Revision kits and essentially past exam questions but with only 14 exams since the introduction of the paper, there are only 56 past exam questions so reputable publishers “fill out” their revision kits with home-made exam standard questions
Yes, you could be ok with just ACCA downloaded 56 questions
