Hey guys. Need your advice. I am thinking of taking my P1 with LSBF with little help from opentuition. Is the lecturer for P1, John Cope, for Lsbf good. I failed my exams twice for P1 after studying really hard

    Please Advise

Gulam, having failed twice, I would say its not your knowledge thats lacking, its your approach to answering.

If you prepared thoroughly in first 2 attempts, believe me, LSBF or BPP, nothing is going to create a difference.

    Follow this,
read the scenarios, make points (not full answers)
read the examiners answer, use a different colour and write the points you didnt think of while answering

do this for all but 4 papers.

In your final revision when you feel prepared, apply your understanding to the 4 papers and you’ll see the difference, still use different colour to note points you didnt think of

Review all the coloured points, not the normal ones as you obviously know and thought of them in your approach.

Have someone read your answer and judge if they make sense in a professional way

    Write like this:
    1. Case point
    2. Theory point
    3. Apply theory
    4. Conclude

    EG

Case: Sara knew she was breaching her duties of trust by following orders but still managed to keep quite about her boss’s behaviour

    Req: Use kohlberg 6 stages

She breached her duties of trust. Kohlberg says in stage 1 level 2 that person has a child like behaviour considering “whats in it for me?”
Sara kept quite for her fear of being fired and did not consider the greater good. She as an accountant had a duty of care towards the general public and acted for self interest

I admit its a bit rusty, but its to give you an idea of how to answer.

    Best of luck!

    Gulam,
how did you arrange your preparation after 2 failures?

I have the same problem with P1 which you had back in August’15 (2 failures).

    Hi Anton

The most important thing is to pick yourself up as you lack the motivation failing the paper twice. You need to get more exam practice as i assume you already have the knowledge. You have to make sure you make enough points per question in the given exam. For eg. A question asking for you to relate to the scenario and which carries 8 marks, put a heading and explain detail 4 points. A question relating to knowledge only carries one mark. A question asking to ”Explain” carries 2 marks therefore u need to explain in detail.

    Hi Guys

Please advice me…I failed P1 for the first time and i think i got somehow very disorganized when i started working in October last year, whereby i had to switch day classes to evening classes. I am working for a Telecommunications Company so you can just imagine the pressure. I want to write it again in March.
