It was my second attempt. I worked hard and sat for only one paper. I didn’t get any release from my employer to attend tuition, I therefore, prepared for this paper on my own. I got on 47! I’m fed up. Thinking of quitting ACCA, wasting so much time with this. Some are more lucky than others, though not working all the questions, they succeed. Do passing ACCA, it’s a matter of luck? Or, there’s a quota???

I failed P1 again with 41, this is the 4th time, with almost the same mark. I have to mention that, when I am sitting a paper i always give at least 20 hrs every week for each paper during 6 months.
But since i reached professional level, I have not passed any papers at part P2. For this section, I was confident because my preparation, my experience ( I am MBA holder) and the fact that during the sitting I did all the questions without feeling any difficulty.
I am having very little trust on ACCA marking system now and I think, the system should be able to provide more feedback than simply giving the rate, like more details on each question and comments from the marker. This will drive the student repeating paper and protect the trust between student and markers.

Im thinkig about fighting my mark, I remember reading last session that a student was contacted a few weeks after the results to be told he had not actually failed, he had passed his exam, there had been an error in his marking

When I have failed in the past, I would normally take it on the chin and prepare better next time, but I was so sure this time, I knew those answers and wrote confident responses, I cant believe my mark, its bugging me considerably

Failed?! I was so sure I had passed and by a considerable margin

I answered every question confidently and only got 41% lower than last time

I do wonder about the marking sometimes

I got exactly the same your feelings, I finished all question, 99% surely I will pass, but in fact, i failed, so bad feelings now

Well… at least I am not the only one that is totally baffled and upset this morning. I have failed both p1 and P3. This is not simply a disappointment, this is a serious shame on me. For God’s sake, how can someone fail P1 when I heard that people prepare the paper in three weeks? I spent 6 weeks instead but I got the opposite result. And I was so sure I passed at least P1. Well, there is not much time to cry on spilt milk. I will sit P1,P3 and P4 now but guys, what an upsetting morning!!

I spent 3.5 months preparing. I revised so much I could recite the study text

I’m truly baffled. I’m going to look at the answers when j get to the office then see if there’s any action I can take

    Passed with 50%.
Happy to have passed but it was my worst result so far.
This exam is very misleading because the syllabus is not difficult but I have a feeling that exam technique is all it matters.
It is important to plan, to think more and write less.
I failed to apply this advise but luckily squizzed through πŸ™‚

This is my 2nd attempt and had completed all questions (42%) and I had spent more time than the 1st attempt but still fail. For me, I begin to distrust ACCA marking system and I am considering to quit!

I agree with you, but you won’t be able to win on that issue against ACCA. ACCA made us participate in survey, to share our view, we waste our time with its stuff, but yet never heard that any action was taken. It became a business for them.
Why not implementing a marginal PASS as from 45 marks? Do you people realise how many students fail at 49 marks? it’s a lost of money paid for tuition, exams, and six months time of studying. NOT FAIR
