Thought it was a fair paper. Ran out of time on all the questions so had to bullet point the last parts of each.

Hope I passed. First professional paper I’ve sat.

Resit today and as usual major issue with the time constraint. I felt confident in the very beginning after quickly reading the questions then spent way to long on Q1. Then panicked and had to write as quick as I can – missed lots of good marks, found it difficult to answer question 3.

How tough was that for time constraint!! Had spent nearly 2 hours on Q1, 40 mins on Q3 and rest in Q4, had to just scribble the bullet points in last 30 mins and left 15 marks overall. Poor performance

Yet again I ran out of time. Can’t seem to get enough done for Q1 to move on when time runs out. It’s really annoying as I know the theory but struggle to relate it to the case. Feel like giving up. ?

Exactly know the theory but can’t relate.. N it is very difficult to extract related information from q1 for each part..
Finger crossed… Hope for the best… This is my 2nd attempt… In last attempt I was so sure that I will pass ( 60marks).. Attempted 100% paper but at the end I failed n got 43 🙁

Enjoyed this paper. As soon as I read the questions i jotted my answer of the theory they ask particular noticing if they are asking for adv or disadvantage, difference or just explain and link to scenario.

This really helped with timescale of exam…. So answered all questions well.

The A section was too similar to the pilot ACCA paper on its website. Open tuition lecture on Deon & Tele was excellent help in memorising the theory, just can’t go wrong. Integrated reporting ACCA technical article listed all the capitals and the just great. Looking forward to passing thanks to free open tuition! Best of luck to all!

    Q2 Part Cii
    6 capitals

Did we have to list the capitals and link it to the case study?
    That’s what I done.
    I mentioned the 6 capitals

    Ah lads

Started my exam off by writing the first half page in BLUE …..
    Traced over in black

    and was against the clock

Overall the content wasn’t bad but my writing went so bad at the end and seemed i didnt have time to fully get to grips with the content in q1

I finished it but who knows

could have gotten 20% could have gotten 70%

I’m pretty similar! I misread the disadvantages and put advantages. wasted about 10 mins.

I had a strong start other than that so might absolutely flop from misjudging or be okay…. I have no idea though

First Pofessional paper I attempt and I went to the exam after having re-sat for F8 on Monday which really stressed me so much that I couldn’t revew for P1 during the day and half I had and finally went to the exam thinking in a big FAIL.

BUT… Even I’m still thinking that I’d need to re-sit in March 2016 because being optimistic I wouldn’t get much than 40 marks. My opinion is that this exam was fair. No trick questions. If I had studied well ALL the theory I’d have passed easily.

The thing is that you need to cover ALL the topics to the extent of: Basic theory + Scenario application.

In 2 months of study I was not able to cover all the topics (CSR, Bribery, Integrated Reporting…)

Now I have +3months to prepare the whole syllabus.

I can’t understand people saying time was such an issue. Going over the time for any question is down to bad exam technique, pure and simple. Easiest thing to fix. You’d made it to the ‘P’ exams, you are BOUND to know by now that you score the most marks at the start of an answer?

I thought the paper was fair, opened it and didn’t see any nasty surprises. Though this is my first ‘P’ so I have no experience in whether or not I have done enough to get the golden 50.

I did questions 2 and 4. In 4- I’d always kind of associated absolutism with deontology and by associated I mean I didn’t think there was a massive difference. Hope that hasn’t cost me big marks! I also found two parts of question 4 similar. One asked you to compare an absolutism and relativism view and mentioned that you could use the case as an example. Whereas the next question asked you to say what view the people had- so my answers were very similar and I started to doubt myself a bit. Didn’t time time to do anything just ploughed on and will hope for the best!

    Well done everyone 🙂

    I attempted 75% of P1 PAPER & attempted QUESTION # 1,3,4 & QUESTION Q # 1,4 was well performed by me but Q 3 #1 was just performed of 7 marks.
    FEELING A FAIL RESULT.

P1 was fair enough but cannot say easy. Question 1 was ok. But not sure of the part of the functions of the risk committee and did not sign off my article.
Question 4 was ok too but struggled with the effect of accepting the bribe. Knew it but not too sure of my presentation.
Half way through Question 3, I realized it was tough. Couldn’t differentiate between requirement b and c. May have fared better with Question 2. Trusting God for success.

It was bezarre. Wasn’t fully prepared so was a bit nervious.

Looked at Section B first – just to select quetions I was going to attempt – and at first glance struggled to decide because I felt good about all 3. Marked 3&4 for later and started on Question 1…

So ‘the importance of planning your answers’ were drilled in as of the UPMOST importance so I followed the 10 steps… Well I PLANNED my answers so well, I never got time to write them. Time somehow got completely away from me and before I knew it I was almost 2hours in and haven’t even started on the letter.

Decided to quickly get q3 and q4 done – they looked pretty straight forward the first time I looked – and then whatever time I have left I can try and get as much done of the letter as possible – planning is done afterall….

Skipped “planning” the last two questions – clearly the wrong approach for me – and started with Q3. But, it must somehow have changed from when I first looked at it, cause now it makes no sense at all?

Already behind the 8 ball, no time to change question now, I slot some things down, leave about a million empty pages (as I’m going back later ofcourse) and start on Q4. Magically this question also looks different now? Was sure I could have “ethical theoried” the crap out of it before the exam?

As I was plotting my answers down, knowing as I am writing them that they are all kinds of wrong and not at all what was asked, I hear 15 minutes left….

Ok-leave it. Try the letter! Get SOMETHING down! Introduction paragraph done – now to start slotting in the theory from my planning – times up?!?! What?? All a conspiracy!!!!

My first ACCA paper. Not the worst paper I have ever written – just the worst I have ever written a paper?.

First time I’ve ever experienced complete brain-shut down-I normally test really well. Must have really lived myself right into that mining town from Q1….

First time I’ve sat a professional level exam. My timing was perfect as I put my pen down with one minute to spare! Overall, I thought it was a fair paper. Hopefully I did enough to make the magic 50%. P3 tomorrow, hope it goes as well as today.

Being asked to write an article is a good professional mark earner i think. The language can be less formal than a letter or report, so better for e2l students. It’s not a difficult style to pick up if you read the press, which you should be doing at P level.
