I am little confused by what is in the notes regarding deontological morality and that social laws are unnecessary for deontic moral decisions. (page 95)
I understand that the deontological is the judging of morality by the adherance to rules and by taking actions on the basis of “its the right thing to do” is adhering to the the laws a regulations as they were created to manage society.
However i do not understand why you would not need laws and regulations if everyone did “the right thing” especially when moraility whether absolute or relative give scope for a different takes on “the right thing” so laws and regulations would still be needed to make sure individuals adhere to the same thing for society to function.

you’re right – and that’s exactly why we DO need laws and regulations. If we all behaved correctly there should be no need for laws. If we all limited ourselves to 70 miles per hour on the motorway, there would not be any need for a speed limit.
that was the point, but you are correct. there are so many different views on what is right and acceptable and equally what is not acceptable
its simple my friend : statement ‘ we do not need any law because every thing is right’ the statement show it self as wrong statement because if every thing is right then why this statement developed?? for who to show that there is nothing wrong …
so thats why we still need laws n regulationsThe statement is made because everything is not right. You may find it hard to believe but there really are corrupt people / societies / nations / professions.
If there were no corruption, there would be less need for law. If, as Biggles has stated earlier, everyone voluntarily accepted a socially responsible attitude and approach in EVERYTHING they did, why would laws be necessary?
