Hi guys, could you guys please provide me some examples of your version of answers for P1 questions? I’m really bad in application/elaboration, so i hope to learn some techniques from your version of answers.

Examiner’s answers are too complicated for me, which confused me about HOW MUCH/HOW FAR/WHAT DO I HAVE TO WRITE TO BE ENOUGH..

Have you read the article “Read the mind of the P1 marker” which has been written by member(s) of the examining team? I think it provides some useful insights into what you need to write to get the marks https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p1/technical-articles/p1-marker1.html

I would refer you to tutor Mike Little’s excellent posts which cover this, and much more:

In short the key thing to remember is that most of the time in P1, one relevant and correct point = one mark. You have 1.95 minutes per mark in the exam, and a significant chunk of that should be dedicated to planning before you write anything. You’ll probably end up with about 1.3 or 1.4 minutes per mark for the actual writing bit.

What’s the most you can write reasonably neatly in 1.3 minutes? You can test it yourself. For me it’s 3 lines.

So then you can see, that’s the most you can write for a point. If it’s 3 lines for you too, then for a 10 mark question, you should write a maximum of 30 lines. Any more than that and you’ll go over time and probably be waffling.

You’re correct in that the examiner’s answers are far too detailed. It would be impossible for most people to write an answer of that size and quality in 3 hours 15 minutes. They are 2, 3 or 4 times the size of the answer you will write. But that’s OK – it doesn’t mean if your answer is not as long and detailed as the examiner’s that you won’t score well.
