I’m planning to do AA F8 next but want to keep eligibility for the OBU BSc. I read you don’t need a qualification if you are from English speaking countries but does it need to be checked prior to sitting this exam (or F7 & 8)? I’ve lost my GCSE and A Level certificates but have my degree – from a UK university.

And what’s the deal with the mentor scheme and it costing hundred of pounds? Sadly all the topics sound incredibly dry too.

    Hello,

    Are you British born?

Yes if your from a English speaking country you do not need to provide proof this would have been required in the intial registeration process.

    Thanks,
    Amina

Yes, you need to get your eligibility for the OBU Bsc degree before passing F7, F8 OR F9

As mentioned on the ACCA website:

“To be awarded the BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting you must:

    – be registered with Oxford Brookes University ie have opted in to the BSc degree scheme and hold a suitable English language qualification before sitting and passing any of the three ACCA Applied Skills exams Financial Reporting (FR), Audit and Assurance (AA) and Financial Management (FM) ”

    which you can find here:

“To meet the university’s English language requirements you will need to have one of the following acceptable English language qualifications, unless you are from an English speaking country.”

You can find this in the following document
    https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/bsc/English%20Language%20Requirement.pdf

In the above document you can read all about the English Language Requirements for Oxford Brookes.

Moreover, even if you have lost your GCSE and A Levels certificates but had submitted at the time of registering for ACCA, you can call ACCA and ask them whether they can directly submit that for the OBU BSc degree. It may take about 1 to 2 days for your account to get updated.

Here is a link to the OBU BSc Degree Information Pack 2018-2019

    https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/bsc/information-pack-2018-19.pdf

    Hope that helps.

Thanks I presume I’m fine as a born and bred Brit. Although I know of UK passport holders who can’t speak much English so it’s not a given.

Sadly my certificates went awol many years ago. This has been a problem before weirdly. All I have is my degree – UK wordy subject. I’ll call and double check.
