overrated V/s overvalued

maam this is silly I know-

but is there any specific difference between overstated and overvalued? and is it that we cannot use them interchangeably?

You can overstate a quantity (number of items) and overvalue monetary amounts ($).

You can say that $s are overstated but not that #s are overvalued.
