In questions like Proteus Co. the following is given:
Tax rate: 25% of PBT and Dividends remitted is 25% of PAT.
We need amount transferred to Reserves.
Can I show .75*.75 = 56.25% and Multiply .5625 with PBT to directly get the amount transferred to Reserves?
Will my marks be deducted if I simplify it to this extent?
No – you won’t lose marks (provided your workings are clear enough for the marker to be able to follow what you are doing).
