sir all the past paper questions are based on American option or european? I think american because we are able to use the exercise price and close the contract any time we desire.

5y ago#1Yes. For calculations in the exam just assume that they are American (but just in case there is a written part and you are asked, be able to state what the different between the two is :-) )
