I was with BPP previously, however am only using the BPP revision kit and the study text for the questions at the back. Open tuition lectures are better than BPP online lectures.

I have used OpenTuition lectures and notes initially, and now using the BPP Study Text for the Bank of Q&A. Also have the BPP Revision Kit which I hope to start next week.

Yeah stick to what you are doing..Thats exactly what I am doing. Ive gone through the majority of lectures on here with the open tuition notes and worked through for the examples and now hoping to focus on questions till the exam day!!! Good luck

BBP Text – section 4.4 page 144 – Example question related to trading losses relieved against capital gains. Why isn’t it just 7500 instead of 6000. Thanks in advance.

Because according to OpenTuition notes, and I quote,

“The remaining unrelieved trading loss may be set off as a deemed capital loss against the taxpayer’s gains for the year; after setting off current year capital losses against current year capital gains. It takes precedence over both the annual exemption and any capital losses brought forward.” Ch. 7 pp.51 Section 5(c)
