Forums › ACCA Forums › General ACCA Forums › On average, how many hours did you guys study for F7 and F9?
Also, what were your scores? I’m planning on devoting 1000 hours(I want to absolutely master the stuff). Are they enough?
Yes they are more than enough – but remember it’s about the effectivness of study not the ‘time amount’.
Personally I have never counted hours which I have spent on studying.
1000 hours! How will you manage that? 1000 hours / 120 days = around 8 hours each day!! Do you not work or intend to have a life at all over the next 4 months?
You should be realistic about what you are able to do. Make a plan of what you are going to study and be ready about six weeks prior for revision.
I wish you luck and admire that you intend to do this much work
F7 – I did weekly classes circa 3 hours x 14 weeks + 3 hours a week + Revision classes, 24 hours + 3 weeks cramming, 60-80 hours, Total = 170 – 190 hours maximum. Got 70%.
F9 – I say I did slightly less similar to the above 150-170 hours and got 61%.
I just done F8 & P2 in Dec 14
I say I did less than 100 hours F8 & over 220 hours P2.
Will get F8 & P2 is knife-edge….so you aren’t always rewarded for time you put in.
Well I guess I’ve been overestimating. Eight hours a day is pretty realistic and doable though and that too without sacrificing your social life. I wake up at like 5. I start studying at 7 until 4 including some breaks. You can do whatever you want in the evening or late evening.
As another poster said, it all depends on the productivity of your time.
2 hours of quality focussed work is better than 4/5 hours of poor work.
