I have a query, which is more of a confusion that i need to clear.
As per the guidebook for RAP (OBU), there are three industries for topic 8:– Airlines
– Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology
– Mobile TelecommunicationsIf the second topic is selected for RAP (Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology), does the company that is selected for Financial and Business analysis needs to have operation in Pharmaceutical and biotechnology or is the operation is Pharmaceutical industry alright for the project??

Are you trying to differentiate and say does a company that markets pharmaceutical and biotech products qualify or must it be one that actually produces the products as well as sells them?? I think the Information Pack refers to industry category classifications so you should look these up as it will say what falls within each category.

I have a similar question and I will go ahead and rephrase it.
The Info pack mentions ” Pharmaceutical AND Biotechnology”
So my question is, the company which I will select, Does it have to be both a pharmaceutical AND biotechnology company? OR can it only be a pharmaceutical company Or a biotechnology company? Only one of the two different classifications?
I hope my question is clear enough.
Can you please shed some light on this.

Also,the Oxford Brookes website states that:
Industry Sector Classification
Students submitting a Research and Analysis Project for the
first time in 2016, must select a company and comparator that
fall within ONE of the following Sectors or sub-Sectors:My assumption is that I can either do a research on Pharmaceutical Or a biotech company?
Further clarification required.
@tahla12 – your assumption is correct – the company can be in either of these sectors or both. Wherever possible the comparator too should match the sector(s) as closely as possible.
Please I need an advice from anyone on the pharmaceutical company that I should use for this research work on T8.
I learnt that their revenue from Pharmaceutical activities must reach certain percentages to be accepted. Please what percentage of pharmaceutical activity is acceptable?

My subject company and competitor have different reporting currencies. I do know that it is not a problem when comparing ratios but I still want them to be in the same currency as my subject company. Can someone guide me with how to convert the currency? i.e what rates to use average or year end
