March 22, 2016 at 8:23 pm #307855USEFUL ADVICE ABOUT ACCESSING YOUR RESULTS TONIGHT
We have often wondered why when logging on at 00.01 on results day you are still unable to access your results. Even several hours later and it can take many attempts and hours before you succeed
I now have discovered the reason for this is that not everybody’s results are released at the same time but instead to prevent the site from crashing, results are staggered. This means that your chances of getting yours at 00.01 is very, very small indeed.
The best advice is to wait about 5 or 6 hours and then try. The staggering involves randomly allocating students to different batches so even if a friend gets their result it does not necessarily mean you will get yours soon after. You may as well save yourself the frustration and wait and rather than try to log on at 00.01 GMT try 06.00 GMT instead and you are more likely then to be able to access them 🙂

Passed! : ) thank you Opentuition. Without you it would’ve been much harder to pass my exams and obtain my BSc. After coming to this website I passed all my exams with first time passes. God bless you all.
Yours sincerely

March 23, 2016 at 7:32 am #307893passed with B upper second class degree thank You God. My mentor Thulani Mhlanga you are the best
March 23, 2016 at 7:47 am #307897@Calvin Poon – see the Information Pack. Normally there is no appeal about grade as that is what is called ‘academic judgement’. The grounds for an appeal are that the assessment criteria have not been applied correctly.
The OBU process means every fail is the opinion of at least 2 markers (including one who is a senior marker called a moderator and they all have been marking RAPs for at least 8 years). However if you think that you can demonstrate that the assessment criteria have been wrongly applied then contact the OBU about an appeal. Sometimes results will be changed but the percentage apparently is low – see our last question of the FAQs on our homepage http://www.opentuition.com/obu

Reasons for fail and advice for improvement:
Your SLS needs to be framed using your own words to reflect upon your experiences undertaking the RAP. You have used another student’s work to such an extent that you have failed this aspect.i had the above comment and a failed RAP. Does that mean i will be brought before a discplinary
March 23, 2016 at 8:31 am #307906I passed! Trephena thank u so much
March 23, 2016 at 8:43 am #307908Passed with Grade A, thanks to OT and special thanks to my mentor Adrian at the Learning Luminarium!
March 23, 2016 at 8:57 am #307912@wmangwiro – Turnitin clearly identified that sections of your SLS were common with another student’s work. The marker having been alerted to this fact has made a judgment call. As you have your result they must have concluded that your work overall did not demonstrate other instances of plagiarism – otherwise your result would have been deferred. It would appear the marker decision was to inform you that they knew your SLS was not original and that this is unacceptable. Count yourself lucky that on this occasion you have been spared an ACO referral. Do you own SLS for your next submission and don’t play them for the fool – their comments are a warning shot as if they find anything irregular next time you will probably find yourself being an ACO case.

Thanx very much trephena, But now i am considering a new submission. Are you yourself a mentor as i now need serious guidance.
March 23, 2016 at 9:29 am #307925No unfortunately. I am in a delicate position and helping students privately would compromise my standing as the Forum Moderator.
We have The Learning Luminarium as our recommended mentors but Hammad Ahmed Qureshi’s students also achieved some good results in P31 (he comments on our forums) Several students have also commended Anna Lishman but she is fairly expensive compared with my other two suggestions. It is a case of you contacting some reputable ones (these 3 are reputable) and seeing who meets your requirements and budget
Link for The Learning Luminarium:
https://www.learningluminarium.com/The OBU mentoring website has a list of mentors but theirs is just an impartial list not particular recommendations – but in the end it is your choice

Hi Trephena, my report failed and the marker feedback states I did not use enough citation in my ratio analysis. In my SWOT/PESTEL the marker comments it is well detailed and well referenced. In the ratio analysis I used the numbers within the annual statements and then took my findings from the SWOT/PESTEL to backup my ratio analysis without referencing the point again (as I had referenced the journal/article point already in the business analysis). Is there where I have gone wrong, I should have again referenced the article in the ratio analysis?
March 23, 2016 at 9:36 am #307928Hello. Could someone help me connect with Anna Lishman. Everyone seems to be talking about her. I did not clear my 1st attempt. I have received by review comments from the examiner.
Please help me by sharing her details.
Thanks

Thanx very much for the advise
March 23, 2016 at 10:16 am #307932The Learning Luminarium seems the most expensive at £650* . But I suppose the good thing there is you get 2 mentors, not just one. Quite surprising OBU allow this. If you can have 2, can you have 5? Is there an upper limit?
@trephena Is this ok? Or if you choose TLL, might you be opening yourself up to ACO review?
@ashwinacca Anna’s site is here: https://www.annamentor.com/registration/ but it says she’s no longer taking new mentees for this period. Might still be worth checking with here though… good luck!*NOTE FRIM TREPHENA -I think the GBP 650 being quoted is TLL’s Platinum package which is top if their range. The mentors at TLL have the ability and experience to review work with virtually the same eye as an OBU marker and therefore highlight weaknesses and suggest changes before submission. They do offer cheaper non-platinum packages -contact them for details

Hi Trephena, on my second attempt i didn’t make it again, I feel very discouraged and feel that my efforts have not been rewarded:
my first attempt went to ACO and i was advised to change the topic and case studies
I changed it and took topic 13 and did all i could do to make a pass, but here is the moderators comments
“You have obviously put a lot of effort into this project. You have the basis of a pass project but will need to remove some of the detailed analysis of compensation systems and replace it with more analysis of other important HR activities.”
The only thing i can think of now is to cry:
I need your help please and also its the last attempt left for me to submit.
I just feel like giving up
