March 26, 2020 at 6:54 am #565894I got my results, I got a ‘C’ pass. Does anyone know how to appeal to ‘OBU’, since was expecting ‘B’ grade
March 26, 2020 at 7:15 am #565895Finally received my results. Passed on my second attempt. Congratulations to those who passed and those who didn’t make it. Please don’t despair. Review and amend your first submission. Make sure to address all the issues/concerns raised in the feedback report. Many thanks to Open Tuition for your support and also to my mentor Prof Mashingaidze.
March 26, 2020 at 7:18 am #565896@houssain001 – Sorry but you cannot appeal against academic judgment so you would just be wasting your time. Look at it like this, you got a pass and those who failed would be very glad to have got that pass.
There is always some slight variation in grading but unfortunately you will have to live with it as unless you can show the whole process was flawed there us absolutely nothing you can do
@jamesparekh – well done you – it is disappointing not getting the grade you wanted and possibly deserved but in the current circumstances there are more pressing issues and at least now as you say, you can get on with your life 🙂March 26, 2020 at 9:56 am #565905Passed! Finally got email at 3am UK time.
March 26, 2020 at 1:28 pm #565874Can anybody explain to me this result? Did i fail in RR or sls or both?
Dear Student,
Oxford Brookes University BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting
Following the decision of the Oxford Brookes University BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting Examination Board held on 23 March 2020, I regret to inform you that your Research and Analysis Project has FAILED to achieve the pass standard.
Your marker feedback will be sent to you via email by 03 April 2020. This indicates the area(s) of weakness in your Project as well as advice on how improvements can be made.
We have arranged a webinar “Resubmission of a Research and Analysis Project“, specifically for students who are thinking about re-submitting their RAP. The webinar is on : Thursday, April 02, 2020 at 09:00 AM British Summer Time. Register for the event here:
https://event.on24.com/wcc/r/2181757/0B6ABB105D4FEF3B9417D61B9064C980
For those eligible to resubmit, the Period 40 submission period opens on 01 May 2020
and closes at 13:00 hours UK time on 13 May 2020. The submission fee for P40 is £380 sterling and is payable online upon submission of a revised Research Report (RR) and/or Skills and Learning Statement (SLS). Instructions on how to submit your project will be available, from late April, here
https://www.brookes.ac.uk/acca/for-students/project-submissions/
If you have passed all elements of the RR, then you are only required to send a revised SLS upon resubmission as the grade in your previous RR attempt will be carried forward. In the same way, if you have passed all elements of the SLS, then you are only required to send a revised RR upon resubmission. However, this will be capped at a grade ‘C’. Should you have failed elements in both the RR and SLS, then you will need to resubmit both the RR and SLS and your project will be capped at a grade ‘C’. Please note that you can submit a project up to a maximum of 3 times before your eligibility for the degree programme is withdrawn.
We recommend that students update their previous research report in line with the marker/moderator comments rather than start on a new topic. In this instance, your previous pass marks will be carried forward (providing these sections are not amended) and you will only need to revise those areas that were unsuccessful. You will then be required to complete a ‘Resubmission Statement’ outlining how you have improved your work which will be uploaded with your RAP. More details on this, as well as a full resubmission guide to help you with any further attempt, can be found at:
Students are required to meet with their mentor again should they receive a ‘fail’ grade in any section of the SLS and you will be required to re-enter your mentor’s details on the registration form when you upload your project.
We hope you decide to resubmit a project to Oxford Brookes University. However, you may only do so if you are still within your allowed 10 year period in which to complete the BSc degree programme, and have not already submitted 3 times. Please note that receipt of this letter does not automatically mean that you are eligible to resubmit.
Note: this results email is being sent out over a period of 48 hours. Other students you know may not receive theirs until later.
Yours sincerely

March 26, 2020 at 2:56 pm #565941As the email indicates, a fail grade has been awarded to both SLS and RR and you are required to resubmit the project but the moderator may give further details
March 26, 2020 at 5:32 pm #565963You will not know whether you have failed the report or SLS or both until you get the feedback. The email is generic
March 27, 2020 at 2:10 am #565975Hi, I’m in China and haven’t received the result yet. I’ve received confirmation email in November 2019 after I submitted my project, and have also received the google form on 28th February. Does anyone here have the same problem with me? So far I haven’t received anything. This is killing me TT

March 29, 2020 at 2:53 pm #566095Hi,
I am going to submit my project in period 40.
I just want to know if my report or sls or both failed for any reason i have to pay the whole
380 pounds fees again??March 29, 2020 at 11:32 pm #566117Congratulations. I’m planning to submit my RAP for period 40. Please any advice.
August 15, 2020 at 5:08 pm #580700i submitted my RAP topic 8 for this attempt. pls let me know the pass rate of project in the first attempt. even though i took care of evaluation, analysis and proper referencing. but anxiety still kicking me in
August 19, 2020 at 12:53 pm #581183Well I would suggest that you stop worrying and wait until you get your result and react accordingly then as there is absolutely nothing you can do at this stage!
The pass rate for first attempts was about 50% for Topic 8, virtually zero for Topic 1 and probably about 70% for Topic 17 when I was marking and I doubt it is any higher now.
September 13, 2020 at 12:19 pm #585445Zero for topic 1????.That makes me more worried
September 13, 2020 at 4:30 pm #585477it is a disgrace that Topic 1 has such a high bar for passing – I had 2 students who submitted on Topic 1 in P39 – both were failed because they hadn’t used a model set of ‘good principles of budgeting’. One was subsequently grudgingly given a C when she asked – why would my company do that when we are have a good and successful budgeting process? My argument is would the CEO of Coca Cola or Apple etc reprimand their budgeting team and tell them they have been doing it wrong all these years because they don’t use a model of good budgeting principles???? Of course not !!
Let’s face it as I am a former teacher of budgeting for AAT, a former marker and now a mentor, if my students can’t pass Topic 1, how can anyone??
I seriously want to open a dialogue both with Brookes and ACCA on this topic so anyone who failed Topic 1 in P39 or who fails in P40 please contact me via my absolute mentoring website email as unless we protest about the ridiculous approach to marking this topic nothing will ever be done….
September 13, 2020 at 5:00 pm #585480Thank You Gillian,
