Mujji , keep refreshing the page, but be aware that the box of red text stays there so it still looks the same, but the second part changes to “you have already passed”.

Those who passed (congratulation of course) could you please maybe share your grade (A or B) and your topic? just for in house statistical purpose.
    Cheers

@jenecho – No. The feedback is aimed at helping students who failed to make improvements to attain the pass criteria.

If you did Topic 8, my guess would be too many numbers rather than adequately researched reasons for the changes in the trends. For higher grades markers look for evidence that the student has ‘gone the extra, mile’ and really made good connections between the business and financial analyses (impact of SWOT & PEST factors on financial performance)

You may have just been unlucky however and got a harder marker though -some markers are mean and rarely give A’s whereas one or two are more generous and award them more frequently. In the end the grade rarely alters the class of degree which depends on average exam marks. The honours classification is far more important than RAP grade

You cant simply appeal just because examiner has failed you until there is actually a reason other than academic judgement..

Post examiner comment with us. May be we can guide you something

As Handsome has confirmed you cannot appeal just because you don’t like the result, you have to show that the assessment criteria were incorrectly applied.

Every fail is reviewed by a senior marker (a moderator and in some cases a supermoderator too) therefore at least 2 people on the marking team considered it failed to meet the assessment criteria for a C grade.

To appeal you need to set out sound reasons where it met the criteria they failed it on.

Congratulations to all who have passed. For those who failed you did well also. Some people dont even have the courage to even submit a project out of fear of failing at first attempt. So just pick yourself up and resumbit. It will be worth it i’m sure. Has anyone passed or failed on topic 11?

Passed! Thanks @trephena , I could have calculated the unrelated ratios to service industry (i-e Airline Industry), as i had no ideas about performance measures of Airline industry, reading all your comments and discussing with you got me through it.

We have a special forum topic on Deferred results / ACO referrals, so if you use these key words on the search facility at the bottom of the page you should be able to find the relevant posts.

Work is referred by markers who think that there are indications of irregularities in the way the work has been produced. Sometimes this is because the checking programme has indicated extensive passages that have been copied/ reworded or reworked from someone else’s earlier submission. (The programme will also indicate exactly who the work has been copied from). On other occasions the markers or moderators have found elements of the work to be suspicious indicating that someone else may have written it in whole or part.

ACO cases are investigated individually by experienced staff who will look to see if the student conduct rules and regulations have been infringed. They contact the student and set out their findings and seek explanations. Where the evidence indicates that the rules have been broken (cheating, collusion, extensive copying or not original work) they can impose penalties.

The Information Pack sets out the categories of their decisions and the relevant penalties. The results are released for students who are exonerated but those receiving malpractice or above get a zero grade – which effectively is a fail in every section. The submission however still counts as an attempt and where the decision is Misconduct or above, if resubmission is allowed then there is a subsequent penalty resubmission fee of GBP 550.

@seyyo – it is important that you pay particular attention to the marker feedback. I have an article on the Resubmission Statement on our homepage http://www.opentuition.com/obu so read that BEFORE you start your resubmission.

Depending on the topic you chose, IF you decide to change topic then take a look at our Topic 17 Forum on Corporate Governance (you might be surprised how interesting CG can be if approached in the right way) and T17 has a high pass rate. So provided you follow the advice I give on there (you will need to spend an hour or two reading the whole forum and make notes as you go along), your chances of passing at the 2nd (or 3rd) attempt will be reasonably high.

However if you only failed a small part of your work it may still be easier to stick with it and your current topic and make the necessary changes as indicated by the feedback

Hi, I failed my first attempt :(…….I have passed all 4 criteria of techinical and professional skills as well as 1 of the graduate skills which is ‘communication’.

I failed in IT skills and information gathering&reference criteria in graduation skills. The marker commented that “Please include extract of the financial statement in your appendices” as a feedback for info gathering&reference and also commented “You have not included a spreadsheet as required by the RAP guidelines. I would suggest that you take the financial information convert it into a spreadsheet and show the results and formulae used to calculate them” as the reason of failure in IT skills.

However I chose topic 18 which is marketing related and also I was guided by mentor that no appendices will be required to this kind of topic. Besides, I also provided sufficient tables and graphs in my analysis itself with full reference…..

Is it possible to appeal? If it is possible how can I appeal to obu? I’m seeking your kind advice. Thank you.

STUDENTS ARE ADVISED NOT TO SHARE WORK. You could find that someone else uses it, attempts to sell it, reproduces it and ultimately you could find yourself under investigation from the OBU Academic Conduct Office

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
