@Green Activist – I don’t think when you submit a proficiency certificate affects things – it is being opted in to the scheme before you pass F7/8/9 that is the big issue on whether you can do the degree or not. It has something to do with the rules on ‘accredited prior learning’.

I think you are probably fine but only OBU can confirm this so if in doubt contact them.

@jelenaus – the usual reasons for not being eligible are either it is more than 10 years since registering with ACCA or you did not opt in to the OBJ programme BEFORE F7/8/9.

If none of these apply then you would have to contact the OBU Office to find out why you are not eligible. In addition you have to have passed the Ethics Module by the end of this month to submit in P31.

I registered for Acca through FIA in June 2014.I didnt opt out of the program.Everything was fine till 3 november when my friend told me to check with ACCA once that whether i am opted in into the program.

Now when i got their reply, they are saying that you are not eligible for the program as you dont meet english language requirements.

I did my higher secondary theough CBSE board and if candidate gets 65%or more marks in it ,they automatically meets the english lang requirements and i got 90% marks in english.

Now the problem is i dont remeber whwther i submitted my mark sheet at the time of registration or not as my institute did my registration.

But in my status report till the date of 2nd november lt was showing that i am opted in for the program and now acca has suddenly changed it into “you dont meet the criteria”.

why didnt acca notify me about my eligibility and before giving my f7 exam i checked my report to make sure that everything is fine. Why didnt they write about the eligibility in the previous reports. When i called them to check about this issue, after that they changed this thing.

Now i have contacted Acca but they are saying that we cant do anything.

But its their mistake, first of all they didnt informed or notified me.Second, why they were showing in my report that you are opted in instead of showing you dont meet eligibility criteria.

Plz any one of you can asvise me what should i do.I live in UAE , tomorrow i will be contacting ACCA Middle East but i dont think they would be able to do anything.

You have to pay the current submission fee shown in the OBU Information Pack (for marking and administration costs). You also must use an OBU listed mentor so unless you know someone who will mentor you for free you will have to pay the mentor for his/ her services.

In cases of EXTREME hardship OBU will waive the submission fee and possibly offer free mentoring but you will need to contact them about this and they require proof of personal hardship.

You may need to check with the OBU Office acca@brookes.ac.uk

It kind of depends: if you first registered as a student with ACCA more than 10 years ago you are ineligible. You also have to have opted in before doing F7/8/9 (for the last 3 or 4 years this is done automatically). However if you don’t fulfil these conditions then unfortunately then you cannot do the degree.

    Dear Bowen,
Firstly congratulations on the finishing of the exams for now. Best of luck for the results.

Your starting point should be the OBU Guidelines referred to as the “Information Pack”. Once you have read it thoroughly then you need to choose a topic which you are comfortable with. Then you need to consider gathering data for the topic you have chosen whilst at the same time looking for a registered OBU Mentor.

Should you require any further help, I would be happy to answer.

    Best wishes

    Hi @Ehsan,

    Please find your answer:

    CHANGES TO ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Students must have met all the eligibility criteria at least two months prior to the start of the submission period in which the student is seeking to submit. (In practice,
this means that students who have sat the last of their F papers in the March ACCA exam session – and who subsequently pass them – will NOT be eligible to submit
a RAP in the May submission period of that same year AND students who have sat the last of their F papers in the September ACCA exam session – and who subsequently pass them – will NOT be eligible to submit a RAP in the November submission period of that same year).

Based on above, you will not be eligible for Period 32 (May 2016).

    Regards,
Hammad Ahmed Qureshi – OBU BSc Hons. RAP Mentor.

    Hi, Tommy,

As per new rules issued on 15 December 2015 , you must be meeting eligibility criteria for OBU BSc Hons. 2 months prior to start of submission period. Hence, if you even pass F9 in March 2016, you will not be eligible for OBU BSc Hons. Program for May 2016.

    Regards,
Hammad Ahmed Qureshi – OBU REGISTERED MENTOR.

    @bik123

You can pass P1 and even pass whole ACCA then submit RAP. There is no such requirement currently.

    Dear @bik123

It seems you have not finished your fundamental exams of ACCA. Kindly read pg 3 of BSc Info pack to clear your understanding. “The degree must be completed within 10 years of your start date onto the ACCA’s professional qualification otherwise your eligibility will be withdrawn and meet the required proof of English proficiency for the degree.

    @stevis

There are no consequences as eligibility criteria include passing of fundamentals only. There may be some change in regulation only.

    Read https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/bsc/IP2015-16.pdf.
