Hi,
I have failed my SBL this March. I got 39.
I have one question regarding the number of words needed for answering. On average, how many words does a Pass answer should include? I think I only did around 2100. Is it too few without considering the points?
Another question will be related to the model. I think I did not use any models for the past exam. Possibily, I do not know these models well enough, or I just dont have the judgement. Is it necessary to use models, or I could still pass without using any models?
One more question is about the CBE itself. I only used the Word processor rather than Excel processor and PPT processor in the last exam. Did this affect my score as well?
The last question is about professional mark. Someone told me that if I did not get 50% of the professional mark, I would fail the exam for sure. Is this true?
Thank you for your help!

file:///C:/Users/User/Downloads/Effective%20Time%20Management%20in%20SP%20exams.pdf
“In SBL there are four hours (240 minutes) but no additional reading and planning time is
given, so time must be allowed for reading and planning. It is recommended that this will
require at least 40 minutes to do effectively….In SBL, as there are 240 minutes to complete the entire exam and 40 of these are for reading and planning, 200 minutes remain for writing answers. As there are only 80 technical marks, this means that there are (200/80) 2.5 minutes available for each technical mark earned. This is because the 20 professional skills marks are being earned as the technical points are being made.”Don’t worry too much about models initially: first approach the question from a common-sense viewpoint then use models to enhance and justify answers where useful. It is important to refer to models where useful. This is not an exam purely in common sense and it surprises me that you were not able to apply any.
With regard to Excel and PPT, I think it is better if you can use those where appropriate eg if asked to draft slides.
I don’t think your last point is true: marks are just added up as far as I know.
