Dear Sir.
i have Confusion About Non current Asset Working in Cash flow Statement. Can u guide me a proper way to Do working. like to start with Carrying vale or Cost and more over what he can further Ask about this.May 22, 2010 at 11:16 am #60243There’s really a limit to how dificult Steve Scott can make this at F7 level. It can be much more interesting at P2 – but that’s not our immediate concern.
I always start with the information brought forward from the previous year. This is often just the Net Book Value – ie, without details of accumulated depreciation.
Then deal with the various elements of adjustments – disposal, revaluation, purchase – and compare with the closing figure on the closing “Balance sheet” That will give you a figure for depreciation. Of course, he may give you the depreciation figure, and you have to work out the cost of additions.
But, if you recognise that this is an area where you have always had a problem, leave it and put into your answer everything else that you CAN do. then, if you still have time at the end of the question, have a try at the TNCA element.
