    Good Day Sir John,

    The Non Controlling interest is suppose to be added to the Fair Value of Consideration that is the Transferred however the Revision kit for exams from 1 september 2018 to 31 August 2019 (financial Accounting FFA/FA) the subtracted the amount what would be the reason for this ? the question is 25.3 for Prestend

    I am assuming that you are referring to the BPP Revision Kit.

    It is an error in the answer.

    It does say “plus fair value of NCI at acquisition”, and that is correct – we do add it.

    However in the arithmetic they have subtracted it and that is a mistake.

    (If you follow the instructions printed inside the front cover of the Revision Kit to access the Exam Success Site, then you should find an errata sheet listing any mistakes in the book.)

    One more how about questions where the percentage of the share capital is not given how does one calculate it?

    If it not given then you can calculate it yourself because in the SOFP of the parent company it will state how many shares they own in the subsidiary, and in the SOFP of the subsidiary company it will state how many shares they have in issue in total.
