I am going to take the F8 exam in June but still need a few answers.

    – I see there are many content providers but I see that I can pick between F8 UK and F8 International. Since I’m in the UK I guess I should pick UK, is this right? But some providers are only selling International versions.
    – What do I actually buy exactly? There are several things being sold. Should I just buy all the items such as Study Guide and also the Revision Kit? Or do I only really need the Study Guide?

    Hi Ali
I was confused as to what versions of papers to sit too. A few different people advised me in the end and they all said the same so I went with their advise. I live and work in the UK too.

    F4 – Law (ENG)
    F6 – Tax (UK)
    F7 (INT) & F8 (INT)
    F5 & F9 – no version selection required.

I don’t receive funding from my employer so have tried a few different methods of preparing from the exam.

For some modules I have used BPP and Kaplan distance or online learning packages.
For other papers I have just bought the study text and revision kit and used the resources on the OT website. This is obviously the cheaper option. I have used BPP and Kaplan materials, both are good and both have the annoying errors in them. The pocket notes are useful, I found the F9 pocket notes particularly useful.

I would definitely recommend the revision kits. The study texts are great but it is the practice questions in the revision kits that will help prepare you for the exam. You must also do lots of past paper exams.

    I hope this helps

    Hi Ali,

I would suggest u to try solving tasks from the revision kit and using pocket notes for the theory. If u will find it hard, then u will need complete text.

Students usually choose between Kaplan and BPP. BPP is good for getting knowledge, Kaplan is enough for passing the exam. I prefer Kaplan because it is clear, short and exam focused.

If u r looking for cheap books – onered4444@gmail.com. I can send e-version as well
