Question 3 is the 30 marker and it was a consolidation question in December. The other two 15 marker questions were on preparation of financial statements and interpretation

These three topics (together with cash flow) are the traditional main topics asked in paper F7.

Will this continue? I have no idea! In a “preparation” question the examiner has the opportunity to bring in a number of different IFRS but these questions were always worth 25 marks. In a 15 mark question – well, that’s a whole new ball game. There’s not as much opportunity to bring in many IFRS but you could still be faced with the application of 2 or 3 standards in a 15 mark preparation of financial statements question.

I imagine that the preponderance of “interpretation” questions will reduce – again, to write a report in 27 minutes having calculated, say, 6 ratios will be asking a lot of even a well-prepared student. Question 2 I can see being a “preparation” question for quite some time but question 3 could be seen to hop around the IAS / IFRS problems with less emphasis on interpretation

As for which ones………I have absolutely no idea. Have you checked out my tips?
