Please flocks, I am very new here and I need some enlightenment. I joined open tuition with high hopes of getting substantive materials for study, but what I find of the course notes is quite disappointing. The examples are never solved, you just get the steps and you are left wondering. Is that how it is here, please I need some clarification.

The Course Notes are exactly what they say they are – they are notes used in the free lectures.

It is actually printed on the notes that to benefit from them you need to watch the lectures – during the lectures we go through the examples on screen.

(You will also have seen on the contents page, that answers to all of the examples are at the back of the notes, but again the notes are to be used with the lectures.)

Our notes are not meant to replace Study Texts – they are what we use on courses. However, if you work through all the lectures then you do not really need a Study Text – we cover everything that is needed to pass the exam well.

The only extra thing that you do need is a Revision/Exam Kit from one of the approved publishers. They contain lots of exam-standard questions to practice on, and practice is vital.

(Since you are new to OpenTuition, it would have made sense to follow the link from the home page – “Get started on OpenTuition.com” where all of the above is explained, together with details of the other free services available such as tests and ‘Ask the Tutor Forums’ where tutors will help with any study problems that you may have.)
