Sir what should we revise in these last days of exam.Should doing the past papers from 2010 will be a good idea as the examiner was changed in 2010 if i am not wrong. Thanks
You are correct – most important are the papers from 2010 onwards 🙂
Thank you sir I will stick onto that please let me know if any other area need to be foccused.
One thing more in dec 12 paper first question coeden why dont we use irr here. And to find the market value of debt if its not given do we always calculate it this way i mean 5.2×1.049^-1+5.2×1.049^2 —-.or And similar in question 3(a) cannt we use irr to find rate of return if we can can u pls tell me how, when do we use this above thing (5.2×1.049^-1——–)i always struggle so pls help.
And in same year question two has the borrowing rate been simply assumed as .37
And last query like this year is it possible that we r asked to do 4 question.
Thank you sir.
The market value of debt is always the present value of future expected receipts.
In the example you give, you would not lose marks if you discounted at 5% using the tables (even through strictly it should be at 4.9%).
To find the rate of return – yes we do calculate the IRR (it is just that the examiner writes it in a funny way).
You are not required to do 4 questions. There is one compulsory question for 50 marks. Then you choose any 2 of the remaining 3 questions.
