    Greetings everyone,

I worked in a CA firm for about a year. I don’t work there anymore. I need to get my experience signed off. Since I am new to this, I am not sure how I should approach my old firm for this purpose. I am from India and the experience will signed off by a qualified CA. How different will be the process of signing off for ACCA from that followed by the ICAI of India? I am a bit concerned. Please help me.

    Regards

    Vivek

The person who signs off your PER must be a full member of an IFAC organization. As ICAI is part of IFAC, a CA from ICAI can sign off your PER and the process will be exactly the same as if an ACCA qualified accountant did it.

Are you asking them to sign off your time, or some objectives as well? The time is easy enough, they will just need to verify that you worked there in x role for y dates. But the objectives are a little more in depth and require them to check your statement and confirm that you met the objective.

Is it necessary to sign of objectives as well?? What are the implications if I don’t get them signed off?

    Thank you

You must get 9 objectives signed off otherwise you cannot qualify. But you don’t need every employer/supervisor to sign off every objective. You could claim your 1 years experience but no objectives from your old firm, and then the remaining 2 years experience plus the 9 objectives in your next firm for example.

However the objectives can be tricky to complete as they require you to complete a wide variety of tasks. If you think you have done enough to complete an objective at your old firm and manage to contact someone willing to sign it off, it’s worth taking the time to get that done now.

    Your supervisor
Your practical experience supervisor needs to sign-off your time in a relevant role and your performance objectives.

You can record their details below and send them an invitation to register so they can sign-off your experience

If you have have multiple supervisors you can add them later.

If you don’t have a practical experience supervisor yet then you can skip this section and view the performance objectives you need to complete to achieve the practical experience requirement.

    First Name *
    Last name *
    E-mail Address *
    Relationship *
    Job Title *
    Send an invite

This is how it stands as of now when I click on the PER section of my Acca account.

I don’t see a section for the objectives, there. Does it come later on?
Also, if I am going to choose this option, who is entitled to fill the objectives?
Please advise me on how to move forward with this. Thank you
