Hey guys,
I have two interviews tomorrow with accounting firms which I have volunteered for.
The thing is that I have no idea what these smaller accounting firms actually do. Even though I have a degree I am quite worried that he will be expecting me to be able to do a lot of things on my own. This opportunity is extremely important and I cannot miss it as I will not get a job without being able to volunteer at their practise.
Can someone please tell me what accounting firms actually do for companies? All I know is that they work for SMEs but what do they do for them? Payroll? Tax? What should I tell him or know about when he asks what kind of things I know about?
Thanks for any help. I have zero work experience in accounting which is why I find this hard straight out of university.

I have been working in different types of company national to multinational ,small to large.
As you have mentioned they probably work on country like Ethiopia VAT return, year end profit, tax return, year end accounts closing, etc. Some times weird questions may be raised in an interview like the accounting cycles, budget cycles etc.
Hope this may help you in the upcoming interview.
Good luck
