    Dear Sir and friends,
I m very new to a lot of ACCA studies and Degree/Masters programme, please kindly guide me.
I originate from Hong Kong and got married and moved to USA before finishing my ACCA. I have 6 papers left and thought to continue taking them but most organizations in the US doesn’t know ACCA. I was told to stop ACCA and take CPA. When I went for CPA, I was told I need a degree to sit for CPA which I don’t have, I only have Diploma in Financial Accounting and AAT(Accounting Technician) certification from Hong Kong. I went to SJSU and they were clueless about ACCA and told me there is no credit for UK studies and I would have to start a full time degree course from scratch which would take 4 years and it is costly.
I have 2 kids and I can’t take full time classes and ignore them so I decided to continue my ACCA papers at least I m not wasting my efforts coming this far plus I wanted to find some online degree program.
Then I came across study interactive, they currently have MBA program that u can start after completing ALL ACCA papers. It is all online. Here is the link.
    https://www.studyinteractive.org/online-courses/mba/global/

I didn’t wanted to just step into it without know anything about it as there are so many websites offering online programs and so many scams. I was told i have to sign up for all remaining ACCA papers study courses to enroll in the MBA program but I will only have access to study for each paper right the 3 months before the sitting. For example, if I m taking the June 2016, I will have access to study for the papers in March. I find that not enough time as I have a lot to review since I left studies aside for quite a few years for family reasons and things have change quite a bit.
Just the 6 papers studies (3 months access for each) and the MBA certification would be around £4000. With tight budget but also needing the certification, I don’t know if there are better and cheaper ways.
Could anyone kindly guide me please.
    Many thanks!

So what’s the problem continuing with ACCA, using the full suite of free resources available to you on this site?

You have here video and audio lectures, course notes, study guides, practice questions, past exam papers, study buddy possibilities, Ask the Tutor facilities

And did I mention that it’s all free?

And you don’t have to wait until 3 months before the exam to take the paper!

And there are exam centres where you can sit the exams in the Caribbean even it there aren’t any in the USA that are convenient for you

Here’s a list of USA exam centres:

    Atlanta, Georgia S806
    Boston, Massachusetts S884
    Chicago, Illinois S813
    Colorado Springs, CO S887
    Dallas, Texas S856
    Houston, Texas S986
    Los Angeles, California S832
    Miami, Florida S968
    San Jose, California S823
    Washington DC S990

    Hope this helps!

    Dear Sir,
I have used and am using opentuition for my major study method. In usa, not only ACCA is not recognised but every job prefers a degree not mentioning for CPA exams they require one too.
I really want to finish my ACCA exams as i did a lot for it when i was in Hong Kong when opentuition was established yet and i have also started preparing now.
My hurdle is how can i obtain a degree?
    Many thanks,
    Mohinder

If you get the appropriate average, you could maybe think about getting the degree offered by Oxford Brookes University – directly linked to ACCA successes

Thank you Sir. I am not sure if Oxford Brookes will accept me after i missed their Degree programme that required submission of research and analysis project.
I have emailed them about it.
    Thanks!

Sorry to bother u again Sir…..

I confirmed again with CPA board again, it doesnt matter if i have taken all ACCA papers which i will do no matter, to take CPA exams here i need a degree and so many credit hours. So while taking ACCA papers i was hoping to get into a degree route.

I checked with Oxford Brookes and London University, it will cost over £10,000 – £13000 but the one at lsbf has some sort of scholarship going on and it would cost half of £10,000.

When i asked studyinteractive.org about Global MBA awarding organisation this is what they replied:
International Telematic University is part of the International Association of Universities founded by the UNESCO which regroups universities worldwide.

    Any advice.
