Have you watched all of the lectures, and did you really understand them?

Have you got a current edition of a Revision Kit, and did you work through all of the questions properly? (If not then you must. If you did, then maybe by another revision kit from one of the other publishers, so that you have more questions to practice)

Did you answer every part of every question? Even just attempting a tiny bit will almost certainly get you an extra 1 or 2 marks.

Did you set out your workings for the calculations in a way that was easy for the marker to follow? The marks are for each step of the workings, but if the marker cannot follow your workings then you cannot be given marks.

Did you concentrate on the written parts of questions? 50% of the exam is written (as opposed to calculations). The examiner really checks that you understand what you are doing rather than having just learned rules.

In the written parts, you should be aiming for 1 point for every 1 mark. Make each point on a separate line (with a blank line in between) so the marker does not miss them.

Is your writing easy to read? You will think so, but ask a friend if they can read your writing. If not, then print your answers – it may take longer, but you can only get marks if the marker can read what you have written.
