    Dear Sir

I found F7’s multiple choice questions are difficult to conquer. I have used so much time on each question no matter it is theory related or involve computing. I have to say normally I am good at computing figures but not for F7 MCQs. Could you please advise what I need to do to get through this. As English is not my first language, I did find the language used in some June exam MCQs were ambiguous or in a way deliberately made them difficult to understand. I have done/passed a few other papers and this is the feeling I’ve had from F7.

Questions in section B have pattern to follow and understand relevant ISAs would help to clear the way and sail through smoothly. I found some MCQs are even more difficult to grasp than the big questions but is only given 3.6 minutes.

I am going to re-sit F7 in December as haven’t done well in June exam largely due to the incompetent/failure in MCQs (used too much time). Your help will be appreciated!

    Kind regards,

    Lin

Let’s wait until August results are published before you start planning for December resits

Why is this post in P7 Advanced Audit and Assurance?

As for F7 mcqs, if you don’t quickly know the answer, try this. See if you cannot eliminate one (or even two) of the options. Then guess which of the remaining ones appears most likely. You can do that within 3.6 minutes

In the 15 minutes reading time you could spend 3.6 minutes on each of 4 mcqs. Even if you only managed those 4, that then leaves you with 3 hours to answer just over 90 marks – approximately 2 minutes per mark.

If you struggle with mcqs, do the big questions first. But don’t overrun your time allocation. Then come back to mcqs and, again, if you can’t do them, GUESS

But let’s wait for the results in August before laying out definitive revision / preparation plans

Not sure why it went to P7, did go to “Ask the Tutor ACCA P7 Exams” and posted the message there.

    Have a good day.
