My sentiments exactly
June 14, 2012 at 12:57 pm #100822these are the question no.1 as they were over the last 5 years (latest at the bottom):
Cash flow
SOFP
SOFP
Cash flow
SOFP
SOFP
SOCI
Cash flow
SOFP
SOFP
.. i am afraid we are gonna get SOPLOCI or Cash flow.. not happy..
I dont know how they are trying to guess the other questions.. its like forcasting weather in the ukJune 14, 2012 at 3:22 pm #100823not cash flow pls….. Mostly soploci
June 14, 2012 at 5:58 pm #100824I dont mind cash flows, just get confused about where they go in the proforma.
Im hoping nothing about translating foreign SOFP or Goodwill come as they are time consuming and some adjustments.
Sorry to sound bit silly but what is SOPLOCI? is it the income statement? Also what questions are there on it to practice? thanks.
June 14, 2012 at 6:04 pm #100825statement of profit and loss and other comprehensive income.. apparently new name 🙂
Cash flow or soploci are not more difficult but most of the questions are on sofp.. so you get to practice it much more.. I dont want to be translating statements either.. 🙂June 15, 2012 at 8:06 pm #100826Kateraina thanks for your reply,
I agree, there is not much practice questions on them, especially on SOCI.
How are you finding the standards? i only have tommorow to go over them and current issues as i will be doing P3 on sunday.
June 15, 2012 at 8:19 pm #100827i have to say i dont feel very confident (i never do though) .. i dont know where they go for these questions.. there is no limit to complications they can come out with 🙂
current issues its not my favourite.. just confuses what i managed to fix into my head.. 🙂
im doing P3 too… that is more interesting reading 🙂June 15, 2012 at 8:31 pm #100828Tell me about it, every sitting i say the same thing but manage to do well, however this P2 is another thing, i have been told not many people pass it first attempt but we should see.
P3 is a nice paper but there are some aspects that are long, at least we could waffle a little 🙂
June 16, 2012 at 9:28 am #100829I reckon it’s unlikely we get a foreign entity as it was foreign entity in Jne 11, question name Rose.
June 16, 2012 at 10:30 am #100830Hope so Tony but this examiner likes twisting things, what do you reckon will likely come up in Standards?
June 16, 2012 at 11:04 am #100831i think there could be something on fair value – with the current developments.. there was also tip on internal reconstruction as possible topic
with standards.. no idea.. 🙂June 16, 2012 at 2:57 pm #100832AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

does anybody think q1 will be a cashflow??
June 16, 2012 at 4:28 pm #100833this is what i posted a bit earlier:

Cash flow
SOFP
SOFP
Cash flow
SOFP
SOFP
SOCI
Cash flow
SOFP
SOFP
.. i am not making guesses.. but sofp was now twice in a row.. soci was only once in the last 5 years.. CF quite regularly.. so.. i wouldnt ignore it.. its actually probably the easiest out of those three..June 18, 2012 at 11:44 am #100834AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

• Group SOFP and SPLOCI – discounted activities, acquisitions and disposals or a statement of cash flows.
• Non-current assets.

• Leasing – application part with some computations.Where as the Opentuition is saying[/b]
1) Complex group – question Rod ( adapted past exam question ), or
Piecemeal acquisition / partial disposal – question Beth ( December 2007 )
or Base Group ( adapted past exam question )2) Management commentary – question 52 in Kaplan revision kit
3) IFRS 10, 11, 12 and 13 – no past exam question – check the OpenTuition course notes
4) a question on “Various IASs / IFRSs” – many examples from past exams
5) Entity reconstruction – no past exam question – check the OT course notes
Any one, including question 1, could ask for “special” style – report,
memorandum, email or even letter! So make sure you answer in appropriate
style. They both are some different topics.
Which ones are the real BPP Tips??
Can anyone Calrify Please?
