What does “relevant person” mean in the context of Money Laundering Regulations?
According to the Money Laundering Regulations, 2007, we have the following regulations:
2) a relevant person is any person to whom, in accordance with regulations 3 and 4 these Regulations apply
3) ‘relevant person’ shall include:
a) credit institutions
b) financial institutions
c) auditors, insolvency practitioners, external accountants and tax advisors
d) independent legal practitioners
e) trust or company service providers
f) estate agents
g) high value dealers
h) casinos
4) Regulation 4 details those persons and organisations that are specifically exempt from the Regulation 3 people such as the Auditor Generals for Scotland and Wales, the Treasury Solicitor and the Bank of England
