Am I correct if I say :
opinion needs to be modified with the wording ” except for …” but the report will be unqualified report.
To be clear :
for the opion we use the words ” modified /unmodified ” but for the report – qualified /unqualified ?
Would be it mistake if depending on outome of the audit work we can use :
modified /unmodified opinion and the same time modified /unmodified opinion report ?
for example , auditors issue modified opinion with an “emphasis of matter paragraph” but the report will unmodified (not unqualified) ? Thanks

No – the use of ‘except for’ suggests that the report is modified by a qualification
“for the opinion we use the words ”modified /unmodified” but for the report – qualified /unqualified?”
No – the other way round, so ‘for the REPORT we use the words ” modified /unmodified ” but for the OPINION – qualified /unqualified?
“auditors issue modified opinion with an “emphasis of matter paragraph” but the report will unmodified (not unqualified)”
Total confusion!
“auditors issue modified opinion with an “emphasis of matter paragraph” should read:
“auditors issue unqualified opinion with an ’emphasis of matter paragraph’ even though the report is modified”
OK?
