    Hello Sir,

I will be attempting full fledge mock exam from ACCA hybrid p5 exam j2017, Can you kindly mark my mock exam answer?

Also I’ve cleared my exams on first attempt thanks to you I passed F8 and P3 with 70% and 61% in D2016 and J2017 respectively. Not only this but I’ve learnt alot due to your lectures and find myself a more skilled person than ever before.

However failed P5 at 43 marks in J2017 although I was confident for a comprehensive pass having attempted exam kit (also matching answers). I was certain that I’ll get 30 or more in Section A at least to a maximum of 38. Don’t really know where it went wrong, Time management was an issue and got puzzled leaving 11 marks exam though.

Sorry, but we do not have the resources to mark exams.

Time management is vital, so you have already identified one problem. Apart from that, common difficulties in P5 are:

    Not addressing the requirements accurately.

Not focusing on the circumstances described in the question and tailoring your answer towards those specifics.

Not answering in enough detail (aim for 1.25 pages per 10 marks).

I’m glad to hear about your F8 and P3 successes.

I actually write around 2 pages for 10 marks, seems as if too much detail. I don’t have issues reading and understanding question requirements although I seemed to panic and fall into automatic mode after section A since I only had 1 hour and 10 minutes left for Section B.

I also try to understand the relevant business being presented in case study, how it’s likely to be operating and thus tailored points for case study, maybe the stress lead to diminishing quality in exam.

Your 2 pages per 10 marks might mean a ‘scattergun’ approach. It is important to concentrate on the main issues in each question.

Very precise sir. Perfectly summed as scattergun approach despite having a clear understanding and knowledge of the case study and course content.

What do you recommend to overcome this scattergun approach? It has inflicted serious wound I think and has contributed to poor time management and developing answers?

Please provide me detailed recommendation to fix my approach for this time constrained and technical exam so that I’m able to get things moving within time.
