Hi this is the first time I use this forum and actually my last exam as well hopefully. I never applied for any mitigating circumstances before so I am not sure if I can this time. I took AAA on 5 Sept 2022 however prior to the exam, the whole family got the worst covid ever including my “newborn” baby. Having a newborn baby and a 7 year old while studying is quite difficult but studying with a covid and looking after a sick newborn baby is something I think really affected my exam. I can provide for the LFT result but because we just self isolate I cannot provide for any medical certificate. Another problem I had was during the exam.. In the middle of the exam my keyboard keep on stucking making it difficult to type but I have submited a separate “center” complain for this. Please can you advice? Thank you in advance

    Welcome to our forums!

Certainly it is appropriate to have submitted a centre complaint in respect of the keyboard issue.

As it says here https://www.accaglobal.com/ca/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/exam-results/mitigating-circumstances.html – mitigating circumstances should be extenuating circumstances that affect “exam performance” i.e. on the day. So something very shortly before or on the day of the exam.

Circumstances that affect preparation rather than on-the-day performance are unlikely to get much consideration in the determination of exam results because candidates could, instead, not sit the exam and claim mitigating circumstances to withdraw from the session (allowing them to sit at a later session without having to pay the exam fee again).

There is no harm in claiming but I suggest not to hold your breath.
