sir along with mileage allowance can a sole trader(or a property business owner) claim motoring costs such as petrol and car insurance?
No – in an exam question you will usually be given as shown in the Chapter 4 notes the business / private proportions of usage and then disallow the private proportion of the unincorporated trader.
Alternatively the motor expenses incurred will be disallowed and replaced by the approved mileage allowances for the business mileage recorded.
