    Hi,

I am sitting the F4 paper in the June 2014 sitting after having some time away from my ACCA studies and have read a few of things online saying that the format has changed???

Is this still a paper based exam?
With 10 questions worth 10 marks each?
    Q1-7 are knowledge based?
    Q8-10 are scenario based?

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated, as the exam is only over a month away now.

    Thanks

“Same as, same as” as they say! yes, it’s the same as it has been for a number of years (since 2007)

It IS to change in December 2014 to a multi-choice exam with a further 30 marks of short questions (5 questions x 6 marks each)

    OK?

You could be asked to explain to someone who has recently inherited equity shares, preference shares, debentures (fixed and/or floating, secured and/or unsecured) in a company (public and/or private) and this beneficiary knows nothing about securities nor indeed about company law

Hi, if you look at the analysis of past papers since December 2007 (the analysis is on this site) you’ll see the questions and whether they are knowledge based or scenario based.

I would tend to be looking at questions 8 from the last 3 / 14 exams – they are all scenario based but, in being able to answer these questions properly you need to apply the knowledge.

The printed solutions, therefore, whilst often excessively long, will give you both the knowledge and the way in which to apply it to scenaria.
