Dear Tutor,
I wanted to ask you what’s the best possible way which gets you the max marks possible in the time limit on a lengthy and time pressured question like June 2011 Q3 YNM ??Part a for 13 marks but whose every single requirement I think cannot be answered in full satisfactorily in the 20 mins time limit because in my opinion its requiring too much in too little time. In short how would you attempt this question in exam to get the max possible marks?

AgThe exam is certainly time pressured and you should make sure that you do something for every part of every question.
You will not finish every part of every question – sometimes because you do not have the time, and in other cases because you do not understand the question or you are not sure what to do.
Do each part of each question on a separate sheet of paper. In that way, if you have any time left over at the end (which will happen if there are some parts where you are stuck or do not understand what is being asked) then you can go back and try and do more on questions that you did not finish.
The biggest mistake that too many people make is spending far too long on one calculation part of one question. You can usually get half the marks very quickly, but taking too long to get the extra marks means running out of time and losing far more marks because of not having attempted other parts of other questions. It is better to have every question half finished if you run out of time, rather that just having two questions completely finished!
